The Haldimand and Norfolk Justice for Women Review Team was established in 1994. The Team's mission is to improve the coordination, education and effectiveness of the legal and social service systems within Haldimand and Norfolk that respond to women who have experienced violence at the hands of their partners. The membership of the Team includes representation from:

  • Haldimand & Norfolk Women's Services
  • Norfolk General Hospital
  • Norfolk Crown Attorney
  • Haldimand Crown Attorney
  • OPP, Haldimand and Norfolk Detachments
  • Children's Aid Society of Haldimand and Norfolk
  • Victims Services of Haldimand Norfolk & New Credit
  • Dalhousie Place

We have developed and implemented a participatory process and tools to monitor and evaluate a local wife assault protocol between the police, crown, probation and parole, counselling organizations, shelter, & second stage housing.

We provide education and training to service providers and the general public on issues related to violence against women.

We develop, publish and distribute region specific resource materials (i.e. resource card, Women's Guide for Help) for service providers and survivors of violence.
